Stephen Sutton Ride Out Weather (WS7 weather report 14-5-2017)

Today sees the fifth “ride out” in memory of Stephen Sutton and, therefore, it is important that  we get the weather to suit the occasion.  I think we will!

After 4.4mm of overnight rain the morning will be see plenty of bright spells and the air temperature will eventually reach a very mild 17c.  The overnight rain was, however, welcomed, I am sure, by gardeners around the region.  Overnight the air temperature will reduce to around 7/8c.

The radar images are showing that there will be some more rain clouds passing through our area this afternoon and these will bring around a 25% risk of the odd shower.

During the late afternoon / early evening the cloud cover will increase slightly and we are likely to receive more rain tomorrow  morning.

The wind will be deriving from a SSW-WSW arc for the majority of the day and the average wind speed will be around 7-8mph.

Summary for today: A  bright morning with a low risk of the odd rain shower during the afternoon.
