The system of rain that dogged our Bank Holiday is now well beyond our area and the air pressure will steadily rise to around 1016mb. In total 9mm of rain fell in our area yesterday.
There is, however, still a 25% risk of some rain today (particularly during the afternoon) as the low pressure front eventually passes through our area but, in the main, it will be a dry day.
This morning we will be generally shrouded by a bed of medium height cloud but as the day reaches early afternoon we may see some thinning. This thinning of the cloud will help lift our top temperature up to around 19c and overnight the low will be around 11c.
Today’s wind will be deriving from the WSW-WNW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.
Summary for today: A dull start to the day becoming brighter. A risk of rain this afternoon.
