The air pressure is rising slowly and although the barometer will only reach a maximum figure of around 1022mb this will, however, be sufficiently high enough to block any imminent risk from the low pressure system that is currently lying to the W of the UK.
This is surely good news for all those of you that may be enjoying a half term break.
Sadly, the low pressure system does appear to reach us over the weekend and this will bring with a risk of some widespread rain.
Today will be a mild day with a top temperature of 20c and an overnight low of around 14c.
There will be a some medium to high cloud around all day but this cloud will not prevent some brighter spells to break through from time to time. There is a low risk of the odd localised light rain shower (around 15% risk) late this afternoon / early evening.
Today’s wind will be light and deriving predominantly from the SSE. The average wind speed will be around 4mph.
Summary for today: A partly cloudy day but generally dry and mild.
