It is a very overcast start to the day and this necessitated me having to put on the light whilst writing this blog at approximately 06:40 hours.
The air pressure is also is falling slowly and will eventually reduce to around 1004mb by early evening. To add to the poor weather news story the radar images are showing that there is plenty of rain cloud to the N and S of us. Fortunately, we are sitting in a bit of a “dry corridor” but is unlikely that we will get away without the odd period of rain during the day (particularly later). The risk of some rain in our area today is around 75%.
The general dense cloud bed will prevent all but a few brighter spells and our top temperature will be around 18c. Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 12c.
The wind will be deriving from the E-ENE and the average wind speed will be around 5mph.
Summary for today: A generally cloudy day with a high risk of some localised rainfall.
