No need to water the hanging baskets. (WS7 weather report 20-7-2017)

smalllogoA number of people contacted me yesterday asking whether they should water their hanging baskets and planters.  I think that the 4.2mm of rain that had fallen in our area by the time of my observations has justified my advice to them that nature would look after the watering for them for one night at least!

Our journey to work or school will be accompanied by a very high (88%) risk of rain and the radar images are showing that this risk will remain in our area until around 10:00 hours.

It will be a mild and cloudy morning but will brighten a little later as the air pressure rises to around 1008mb.  The air pressure will then begin to reduce again overnight which, in turn, will bring the risk of further rain later tomorrow.

Our top temperature today will be around 19c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 12c.  This is a little cooler than of late.

Today’s breeze will start off from the NW before moving anti-clockwise towards the SW later in the day.  The average wind speed today will be around 5-6mph.

Summary for today: A rainy start becoming brighter later.

Observations made on 20/7/2017 at 06:34 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Temperature :14.9c; Air pressure : 1003.8mb; Relative humidity 89%; Wind : 1mph NNW; Rain this month : 24.2mm; Rain this year : 295.8mm
