Unsettled for a time (WS7 weather report 29-7-2017)

smalllogoAs I write this blog (at approximately 08:30 hours) it is very bright and breezy outside.  This kind of condition will remain with us until late morning.

As the afternoon passes the cloud cover will increase and by 18:00 hours we will have dense cloud cover.  Rain, which will most likely disrupt the test match at the Oval during the afternoon, will push towards our area during the early evening and will bring an 85% risk of rain by mid evening.  There is a 30% risk of the odd localised shower before then.  The air pressure will reduce to around 1002 / 1003mb as rain gets closer.

It will be a mild day with a top temperature of around 19-20c and the overnight low will be around 12c. (Similar to last night’s 12.2c at 05:47 hours).

It will also be a breezy day with an average wind speed of around 10mph. The wind will be deriving from the SW.

The jet stream forecast shows that the “flow” will remain across the UK until around the 8-9 August.  We can, therefore, expect unsettled weather until then.

Summary for today: A breezy day with some bright spells.  A very high risk of rain this evening.
