How much rain? (WS7 weather report 30-7-2017)

smalllogoAfter receiving around 6mm of rain during the last 24 hours this morning has started off with some bright sunshine and a little breeze.

The surface air pressure will steadily rise to around 1006mb but this will not be sufficient to prevent the risk of some sunny showers this afternoon.  From noon until mid evening the risk of some rain (probably light) is around 40%.

So far this month we have received around 28% more rain than average for the month of July but we also had the very warm spell during the first week of the month.  You can’t win it all.  Our average rainfall per day this year is 1.6mm last year, at the same point in the year, we were at nearly 2.3mm per day.

Our top temperature today will be around 18-19c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 11-12c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from a SW-WSW arc and the average wind speed will be around 6-7mph.

Overall today is a good day for stepping or riding your bike but you need to do so in the knowledge that this afternoon could just yield some rain.
