Some play today? (WS7 weather report 17-8-2017)

smalllogoThis morning has seen nearly 9mm of rain fall in our area and there is still a 90% chance of a few drops more before 09:00 hours.

The good news is that the rain cloud system will, by mid morning, have passed through our area (moving eastward) and the remainder of the day will only see a maximum of a 15% risk of rain.  The air pressure will not, however, rise too significantly which suggests we will not completely seeing a sea change in the current weather pattern just yet.

The cloud cover will break as the day passes and the historic first UK cricket day / night test match (starting at 14:00) should start on time (so long as the ground staff are able to clear this morning’s rain from the pitch).

Our top temperature this afternoon will be around 21c and overnight the minimum temperature will, due to a partly clear sky, around 12-13c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the SW-WSW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Summary for today: Some early rain clearing eastwards to leave some bright and sunny spells.
