It is a misty, mild and drizzly start to the day and, with this evidence, it is hard to think that we are supposed to still be in the throes of summer.
At 01:34 hours the air temperature was still a very mild 16.2c and we had a high relative humidity. The mixture of this warm air, high humidity and still wind produced a blanket of mist for us this morning.
Whilst the mist will dissipate as the day warms the clouds will, sadly, not follow the same theme. It will, therefore, be a generally cloudy day. Our top temperature today will be around 22c and overnight will once again be mild at around 15-16c.
As the day passes a low pressure system from the W will edge towards our area and this system will bring a 40% risk of rain late tonight / overnight.
Today’s wind will be deriving from the SE this morning before moving clockwise to end the late afternoon / evening deriving from the SW-W. The average wind speed today will be a light 2-3mph this morning increasing to around 5mph in the afternoon.
Summary for today: Mist and drizzle this morning giving way to a mild but generally cloudy day.
