Today starts off much brighter and offering greater promise (weather wise) than we have encountered over the last few days.
The barometer is showing an air pressure reading of 1014mb and the synoptic charts are suggesting that the low pressure front is now well to the north of us and, as the day passes, the surface air pressure will rise slowly to around 1016mb. The risk of any rain, therefore, in our area today is around 8%.
Whilst we are not going to have a day of wall to wall sunshine it is going to be a pleasant day with a top temperature of around 20c. Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 11c. Last night’s minimum temperature was 12.8c at 04:36 hours.
There will be some high level cloud around but this will prevent some bright spells to develop.
The wind will be deriving from a SW-W arc and the average wind speed will be around 5mph.
Summary for today: A much brighter and dry day.
