There was a lovely red sky greeting me as I made my observations this morning. Folklore would tell you that this was a warning that rain was probably on its way.
In this instance the folklore is 65% certain to be right. The radar images are showing that there are some small rain clouds heading our way around 07:00 hours onward and although these clouds are small and light in density they do still pose a threat of rain. Many will blow through without leaving any rain deposits, others may not.
A further risk of some rain (around 55%) is then likely during the mid to late afternoon period.
In between shower we are likely to see some occasional bright spells although our top temperature today will only be around 14-15c. Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 8c (similar to last night).
Today’s breeze will be deriving from a W-NW arc and the wind will be light with the average wind speed only around 4mph.
Summary for today: Some risk of short lived rain showers. Feeling cool.
