After dark and during the early hours of this morning a large band of rain cloud passed through our area and deposited over 7mm of rain on us.
The rain radar images, at the time of my observations, (approximately 06:30 hours) show that we are now on the western fringes of the system and now, largely, the system is beyond us. We can, however, still expect some further rain this morning with the risk level at around 80%.
During the afternoon the rain cloud system will have moved eastward away from our area and, therefore, we can expect a dry afternoon.
Our top temperature today will be a mild 17/18c and overnight the low will be around 12/13c.
Today’s breeze will be deriving from the E – ESE and the average wind speed will be a gentle 4mph.
Summary: Further rain likely this morning. Improving picture this afternoon.
