It is amazing how 30 days can change our view and feelings so much. The month of September starts off as being the last few days of summer and we were still full of optimism of an “Indian Summer”.
The late burst of summer, however, did not transpire and now the night’s are drawing in, the cricket season has ended, conkers lay on the ground and the heating is being switched on! We can now say that all of the signs of Autumn are now truly here.
This morning will start off with some steady air pressure but the radar images are showing that there are few small rain clouds that will pass through or near our area this morning and, in particular around 09:00-10:30 hours (risk of rain this morning 60%). Hopefully the majority of these rain carrying clouds will simply blow by. The day will see a general covering of medium to high level cloud.
We do, however, have a broader, more developed, rain cloud system that will reach our area after 15:00 hours and this system will linger around for the remainder of the day. This system is less likely to blow by and, therefore, the risk of some rain in our area later today is around 80%.
Our top temperature will be around 16c and overnight the minimum will be around 13c.
Today’s breeze will be deriving from the S-SSW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.
Summary: Generally cloudy but mild. Some showers possible this morning more persistent rain probable later in the afternoon.
