A day to wrap up warm (WS7 weather report 8-1-2018)


It is a very chilly start for the first day back for many schools.  The air temperature at 06:19 hours was nearly -1c and we can’t expect to see the thermometer racing up the scale today.  It definitely is a day to warp up warm.

Our top temperature today will only be around 3c but with a NE-ENE this will feel more like -3c to -4c.  Overnight will remain on the positive side of freezing point at around 2c.

During the day the air pressure will reduce slowly as a low pressure system, that will bring rain to our area on Wednesday, begins to influence the weather pattern slighty. Today will, however, be a dry day (less than 10% risk of rain) with increasing medium height cloud during the afternoon.   It is this cloud bed that will help maintain the positive air temperature overnight.

Today’s breeze will be deriving, as previously said, from the NE-ENE and the average wind speed will be around 6-7mph.

Summary: A cold and frosty /icy start to the day.  Becoming cloudier during the afternoon but with no real risk of rain.
