Getting cold but will it snow tomorrow? (WS7 weather report 5-2-2018)

Today is not going to feel very warm at any point throughout the day although, we will see brighter spells, which should help lighten the Monday mood. The air temperature at 06:30 hours was a mere 0.6c.

Our top temperature of the day will be around 3c (possibly 4c) but as soon as the daylight passes we will see the thermometer reading reduce rapidly towards freezing point.  Overnight the minimum temperature is likely to reach around the -2c to -3c mark.

The good news is, however, that during today we are unlikely to see any measurable precipitation although tomorrow will be a different story with some rain/ sleet/ snow likely (60% risk) during the morning.  The risk of rain today is around 8%.

Today’s wind will, again, be deriving from the cold NE although it will be light.  The average wind speed today will be around 5mph.  At 5mph an air temperature of 0.6c will feel more like -0.5c with the wind chill.

Summary: A cold day with some bright spells.  Becoming very cold after dark.
