Some rain today? (WS7 weather report 8-2-2018)

smalllogo

There is a bit of a change in the wind direction today.  Today’s breeze will be predominantly from the warmer SW.  This warmer air will, however, condense as it moves across the UK and will eventually fall as rain later in the day.

It will be a cool start to the day with the air temperature at 06:30 hours only 0.6c.  We will see the thermometer readings climb to around a peak of 6c.  It is during the later parts of the afternoon and evening that the greatest risk of rain occurs (around a 75% risk of some rain today).   Some of the rain could be heavy.   During the early hours of the night the air temperature will remain mild but as we head towards dawn it will become increasing cool and breezy.  The minimum temperature overnight will be around 1 to 2c.

Today’s breeze will be blowing at an average speed of around 6mph.  The prominent derivation will be from the SSW-SW.  At 6mph the daytime high of 6c will feel more like 4.1 to 4.5c.

Summary: A cold start.  Becoming milder than of late.  Rain likely as the day passes.
