A slight grass frost (WS7 weather report 16-2-2018)

There is a slight grass frost around this morning as the air temperature was only 0.2c at approximately 06:00 hour this morning.

The good news is that the day will see some bright spells through a fragmented cloud bed and the top temperature will be around 7c.  The rain radar images are showing little or no risk today (around 12% maximum) but there is a risk of some rain early tomorrow. The air pressure at the time of my observations was also rising slowly and the synoptic charts suggest that the day will settle with the air pressure around 1020mb.

Overnight will be  little warmer than of late due to the increasing cloud cover but the minimum temperature will still be as low as 1 or 2c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the SSW and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.  At this wind speed the top temperature of 7c will feel more like 5.5c (Steadmann Scale).

Summary: A dry day with some bright spells.  Risk of rain only 12%.
