Back to rain? (WS7 weather report 24-4-2018)

It was a cloudy and breezy start to the day although the air temperature, at approximately 06:30 hours, was still relatively high at 8.3c. The wind chill will reduce the “feel” of the air temperature by around 2c.

The rain radar images are showing that there is a band of widespread rain that will sweep across the UK from a generally west to east direction.  The first wave will reach our area around 09:30 hours.  We may see the odd “spot” of rain before then but these are not likely to be long-lived.

There will be further bands of rain passing through our area during the daylight hours.  The risk of rain today is high at 86%.

It will also be a breezy day with an average wind speed of around 7-8mph (gust speeds of around 15mph).  The wind will be generally deriving from the WSW.

Summary: An overcast day with a high risk (86%) of rain showers.
