Looking fine ahead (WS7 weather report 13-5-2018)

It was a partly cloudy but mild start to the day when I made my observations at 06:30 hours. The good news, however, was that the barometer was showing that the air pressure was steadily rising.  A look at the synoptic charts show that this trend will continue throughout the day.  We can expect the air pressure to be around 102mb by the close of play.

Over the next few days the air pressure will increase a little further towards 1031mb and the jet stream will sit (generally) above the UK.  This suggests that we are set for a mild (at times warm) and dry few days ahead.

Today’s does have some risk of rain this morning (around 11%) but this risk will reduce to around 7% as the day passes.

Our top temperature today will be around 16c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around the 7-8c mark.

Today’s breeze will be predominantly from the WNW and the average wind speed will be about 4-5mph.

Summary: Air pressure rising helping develop a generally dry day with some bright spells.

Temperature : 8.2c; Air pressure : 1012.7mb rising slowly; Relative humidity 9o%; Wind : 2mph WSW; Rain this month : 9mm; Rain this year : 240.6mm
