Dull start (WS7 weather report 24-5-2018)

smalllogoIt is a dull start to the day with a blanket of medium height cloud covering the area.

The radar images are also showing that there is a band of rain just to the south of our area this morning.  The main body of this system will not reach our area but we may just catch the odd bit of light rain or drizzle as we make our way to work or school.  The risk of any rain during this morning’s commute (up to 10:00 hours) is up to 45%.

Further rain systems will move into our area late tonight and early tomorrow morning.  The risk of some rain by breakfast time tomorrow is around 75%.

Our top temperature today will be around 21c.  This time last year we were in the middle of a warm spell.  The top temperature on this day in 2017 was 25.8c.  Today we will only see the thermometer reach around 21c but it will be a brighter / sunnier afternoon.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 11c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the NE-ENE and the average wind speed will be around 5mph with gusts of up to 15mph.

Summary: A very overcast start to the day with a risk of some rain this morning.  Becoming brighter later before the risk of rain returns overnight.
