Late May Holiday Sunday Weather (WS7 weather report 27-5-2018)

smalllogoAfter some early morning rain when 6.4mm of precipitation fell in our area we start the day, at 08:00 hours, with some bright sunshine breaking through a thin cloud bed.

The radar forecast models show that there is a 65% risk of further rain showers today and, in particular, mid to late afternoon.  Some of these rainy spells could be accompanied by thunder.  At this moment in time there is no real way of predicting exactly whether any thunder and lightning will form in our area.

So far this month we have only received around 60% of the rainfall encountered by the same point this time last year.

Our top temperature today will be around 20c and overnight the minimum will be around 13. During the early hours of tomorrow we can expect further rain showers.

Our cloud cover will be often thin today allowing some bright spells to develop.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the NE and the average wind speed will be around 6mph with gust speeds of around 15mph.

Summary: After early rain some bright spells develop but theae are coupled with a 65% risk of further rain and thunder.
