After the storm it is Bower Day (WS7 weather report 28-5-2018)

smalllogoYesterday saw very heavy rain falling in the Aldridge, Rushall, Pelsall areas with the flood water, sadly, entering people’s homes. There was, however, a distinct line between the storm and “ordinary rain”.  This line seemed to run around the A5.  In Hammerwich we received a period of moderately heavy rain but nothing that risked flooding the area.

Today we will all see a much calmer day.  For those of you that are going to the Lichfield Bower you can expect a 25% risk of rain and some warm air temperatures.

It will be a humid day with a top temperature of around 22c and the humidity will be between 70-90%.  Overnight it will remain warm with a minimum temperature of around 13c.  There is also a 15% risk of further thunder today.

There will be plenty of cloud around today but the cloud cover may break up a little to allow the brighter spells to break through as the day passes.

Today’s wind will be deriving from the NE and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Summary: A less dramatic weather day than yesterday. Top temperature of around 22c but very humid at times.

Observations made on 28/5/2018 at 0&:17 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Temperature : 13.2c; Air pressure : 1019.1mb steady; Relative humidity 90%; Wind : 3mph NE; Rain this month : 37.4mm; Rain this year : 269mm
