Today sees a steady reduction in the surface air pressure as a low pressure moves across the entire UK from the WNW. It will be a generally cloudy day with some brighter spells.
The low pressure system will increase the risk of some rain during the days ahead but mostly, for today, will simply bring an increase in wind speed as the day passes. By late afternoon we will see the average wind speed reach around 8mph with gust speeds of around 15-20 mph. The wind will be deriving from the SW.
The wind speed will reduce the “feel” of the top temperature by around 2c.
It will, however, still be a warm day with a top temperature of around 20c and the overnight low will be around 14c.
There is a 25% risk of some isolated showers around mid afternoon and during the early hours. Rain is, however, more likely to fall during the weekend.
Summary: A generally cloudy day with some bright spells. Becoming breezy.
