Today’s sees the beginning of a warm spell that, looking at the current synoptic and jet stream charts, should remain with us all week.
The jet stream is now establishing itself well above the UK and it will remain in the north all week. This will allow a high pressure block to develop in our area which, in turn, will bring only light cloud and allow temperatures to rise. We should see around 12 hours of sunshine today.
Our top temperature today will be around 22-23c and overnight the minimum temperature will be about 13c. The risk of any rain today is only around 2% so gardeners will have to water their basketed and tubbed plants.
Today’s breeze will be deriving from the NW and the average wind speed will be around 3-4mph.
The only downside of the day is that, for pollen sufferers, the pollen count will be high to very high.
During the week we will see the air temperature reach around 25-26c. Not ideal conditions for working in an office!
