Bikini weather? (WS7 weather report 1-7-2018)

It is going to be another very warm today.  We can expect the thermometer to be reaching near to the 30c end of the scale by mid to late afternoon (likely to be around 28-29c).

Overnight will also remain very warm with the minimum temperature a very warm 15c.

Clearly at these high air temperatures the sun is going to be very bright and the UV index will be high (8) around midday / early afternoon.  Sun protection should be worn when the index is at such a high level.

Due to the extreme heat there is a small risk of some thundery rain but the risk is no greater than 6%.

If you are planning a trip to the seaside th cool down with a dip in the sea then the current water temperature at Aberystwyth is around 15c.   In the Orkney Islands the water is a cool 11.7c.

Last month (June 2018) I only recorded 6.2mm of rainfall in our area.  This was compared to 45.8mm this time last year (2017) and 110.8 the year before (2016).

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the NE and the average wind speed will be around 7mph.
