Respite from the heat and a look around the UK (WS7 weather report 28-7-2018)

Disappointingly the cloud cover put paid to any sight of the blood moon in our area last night but I do have some good news on the weather front if you are looking for some respite from the recent heat.

Today will be a much cooler, cloudier and breezy day.  Our top temperature will be around 19c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 14c.  The breeze will, at least create some movement, and further reduce the feel of the top temperature by a couple of degrees.

There is the risk of some rain but I do not think that any precipitation will be sufficient for the needs of the parched lawns and gardens.  The risk of rain today is around 35% this morning increasing to around 65-70% around tea time. During this later period we are at our highest risk of a thundery shower.

Todays breeze will be deriving from a SSW-WSW arc and the average wind speed will be around 10mph with gusts of around 20-22mph.

If you want to see, live, what the weather is doing around the UK have a look at these webcams:

Summary : A cloudy and often breezy day.  A risk of some rain and thunder late afternoon / early evening but mostly dry.
