After the breezy start yesterday today sees a damp start to the day with 5.6mm of rain falling late last night and during the early hours of today.
The radar images are showing that the band of cloud that delivered the early rain will be generally beyond our area by 07:00 hours and, for the remainder of the day, the risk of rain will be no greater than 20%.
It will be a mild day with some bright spells developing. The top temperature will be around 18c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 10c.
The wind will be deriving from the WNW-NW and the average wind speed will be around 5mph.
The next few days, up to Sunday, appear to be generally dry days with Sunday’s synoptic charts showing a slight risk of rain during the afternoon. There is, however, plenty of time between now and Sunday and a few subtle changes to the jet stream position and the wind direction can completely change the outcome.
