Mild for the time of year (WS7 weather report 17-9-2018)

It was a very mild start to the day with the air temperature already at around 17c by 06:40 hours. This is around 4-5c warmer than we would expect for this time of year.

There had also been some early morning / overnight rain which has left the ground wet, however, I am sure that our gardeners will be delighted.  The risk of further rain today is around 30%.

During the day the air pressure will reduce to around 1004mb and this will help develop some increased wind speeds this afternoon, overnight and over the next few days.  Today will see the average wind speed increase to around 10mph by mid  afternoon. Gust speeds could be around 20mph.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday could see wind gust speeds of around 30-35mph.

Our top temperature today will be around 20c and overnight will also remain mild with a low of around 17c.

Today’s breeze (and the breeze for the next few days) will be deriving, generally, from a S-SW arc.

Summary for today : A generally overcast but mild and, at times, breezy day.
