It was an extremely mild start to the day, today, with the air temperature 15.9c at 06:34 hours. This was 2c warmer than the corresponding day and time over the last two years.
The day will continue to be a mild affair with the thermometer topping out at around 21c. Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 9-10c.
We will see plenty of sunny spells during the day but the forecast models are suggesting that a general cloud cover will move into our area early evening and will remain in position for much of the night. The risk of any rain in our area today is around 6%.
Although, at my observations, the air pressure was reducing slowly there will not be any significant change. This means that the winds will remain light with an average speed of around 4-5mph. The wind will be deriving mostly from the SW. As the cloud cover increases the wind direction will move clockwise towards the cooler WNW-NW.
Summary for today : A mild day with plenty of brighter spells. Cloud increasing during the evening but only a 6% risk of rain..
