Slow to clear (WS7 weather report 6-10-2018)

smalllogo

It is a rainy start to the day and the radar images show that the rain cloud is likely to be slow to clear.  My feeling is that we cannot expect any real respite from the rain until after lunch.

The risk of rain in our area before lunchtime is 99%.  By 07:52 hours we had received around 8mm of rain in our area today and we can expect that total to reach 10-14mm before the rain cloud clears our area.

If you want to see clear dry weather today then you are going to have to head towards the north of England.  The further south you travel the more likely you are to come across rain – some of which could be heavy.

Our top temperature today will be around 9c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 5c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the N and the average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Summary for today : A rainy start to the first half of the day. Becoming dry but remaining cooler than of late.

Observations made on 6/10/2018 at 07:52 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Temperature : 6.9c; Air pressure : 1012.1mb steady; Relative humidity 91%; Wind : 1 mph NNW; Rain this month : 9.8 mm; Rain this year : 397.8mm
