High air pressure but for how long? (WS7 weather report 19-10-2018)

High air pressure will remain in our area today and, in fact, for the remainder of October.  The synoptic charts are suggesting that a band of low pressure will move into our area from the north around Thursday, 1 November.  Until then we can expect some mostly dry days.

Today starts off cool with the air temperature at 06:27 hours a mere 3.8c.  At 03:47 hours the thermometer recorded the overnight low of 3.5c.  Gardeners need to protect young and tender plants at these low temperatures.

Today’s top temperature will be around 14c and tonight’s overnight low will be around 7c.  We are likely to see many bright spells as the day passes making it a very pleasant day indeed.

Our breeze will be light throughout the day (2-3mph) and deriving mostly from a SSW-SW arc.

The risk of any rain today is very low at only about 6%.

Summary for today : A cool start but some bright spells developing through the day.
