Wind chill will play a part. (WS7 weather report 18-11-2018)

It was a cool and overcast start to the day with the air temperature at 5.9c when I made my observations around 07:30 hours this morning.  With a steady E/ENE breeze blowing the wind chill made the ‘feel’ of the air more like 3.5c.  Coincidentally the air temperature, at a similar time on the corresponding day last year, was also 5.9c.  In 2016 the early morning was a lot cooler at around 2c.  The coolest start to the day since 2010 was in 2012 at 1.5c.

Today will see some bright spells develop and these will help lift the top temperature up to around 9c.  The wind chill will, however, still play a part.  At a wind speed of around 9mph (14Km/h) the air temperature will ‘feel’ more like 6.5c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 5-6c.

Today will be a dry day with only a 7% risk of any rain.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from a E-ENE direction and the average wind speed will be around 9mph (Beaufort 3 – Gentle breeze).  Gust speeds could reach around 20mph.

Observations made on 18/11/2018 at 07:34 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.
Temperature : 5.9c; Air pressure : 1029.9 mb rising slowly; Relative humidity 90%; Wind : 14mph ENE ; Rain this month : 15.2mm; Rain this year : 441.6mm
