It was an extremely mild start to the day when I made my observations at 06:31 hours this morning. The air temperature was already 9.8c! Compared to the last two years the air temperature at the same time of the day was around 3.8c.
Our top temperature today will be around 11c which is around twice the expected average top temperature for this time of year. Overnight the minimum temperature will be around 7c.
The barometer reading, at the time of my observations, was showing a rapidly reducing figure. This evidence of changing air pressure was supported by the fact that it was also a little breezy. The rain radar images also showed that a low pressure system carrying rain will reach our area around 08:00 hours. This system will possibly linger around for much of the daylight hours. We are, therefore, 94% likely of seeing some rain today.
Today’s breeze will be deriving from the SW-S and the average wind speed will be around 8mph. Gust speeds could be around 18mph.
Summary : A mild day but with a high risk of some rain.
