Plenty of rain yesterday. What about today? (WS7 weather report 19-12-2018)

smalllogoYesterday saw plenty of rain fall in our area yesterday leaving many roads heavily laden with surface water.  In total around 504mm of rain has now fallen in our area this year.

Today will see early rain around 06:30 – 07:00 hours but this small system will pass by to leave a generally dry morning.  The risk of rain from this early system is around 80%. Further small clusters of rain cloud will then reach our area late afternoon and early to mid evening.  The risk of rain from these later systems is 55%.

It will be a mild day with some brighter spells.  Our top temperature will be around 8c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 6c.

There will be a fairly constant breeze blowing today as the isobars are tightly packed.  This will lead to an average wind speed of around 6mph.  The wind will be deriving from a SW-S arc.

Summary : A mild, sometimes sunny day, with the risk of the occasional shower either end of the daylight hours.
