A change from the North (WS7 weather report 7-1-2019)

smalllogoWhen I made my observations at 06:30 hours (approximately) this morning the surface air pressure was reducing rapidly.  This rapid change in the air pressure became more apparent when I stepped outside as the breeze was a little stronger than of late.

This increase in wind speed is due to a low pressure system “squeezing” down the points of air pressure as it moves across the northern tip of Scotland.

It will, however, be a mild day albeit a bit cloudy.  Our top temperature will be around 10c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 6c.

Today sees the highest risk of rain we have had for some time.  The risk of some rain falling during the day is around 32%.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the WSW and the average wind speed will be around 10mph.

Summary : A cloudy but mild day with a steady WSW breeze.

Observations made 06:36 hours on the 7 January 2018 in Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Temperature : 6.7c; Air pressure : 1032.4mb reducing rapidly; Relative humidity 90%; Wind : 10mph WSW; Rain this month : 0mm; Rain this year : 0mm
