Last cold start this week? (WS7 weather report 10-1-2019)

smalllogoIt was another cold start to the day when I made my observations at 06:30 hours.  The air temperature was only 0.7c.  In 2018 the air temperature, at a similar, time was 5.9c and in 2017 6.1c.

Over the next few days we can expect the morning air temperature to become increasingly mild (towards 6c at 07:00 hours) as the wind direction moves from the cool NW towards the milder W.

Today’s top temperature will be around 6c and overnight the minimum temperature will be around 4c.  It will be an often cloud day with the occasional brighter spell.  Yesterday did feel particularly cold to me so, for one, I am looking forward to some respite.

The rain radar images do show a few “smatterings” of rain cloud heading our via the Peak district during the day but these will only bring a 25% risk of rain.

Today’s wind will be deriving from NW and the average wind speed will be around 4mph.

Summary : A cool start but becoming slightly milder as the day passes.

Observations made 06:35 hours on the 10 January 2018 in Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Temperature : 0.7c; Air pressure : 1031.2mb reducing slowly; Relative humidity 89%; Wind : 1mph NW; Rain this month : 0mm; Rain this year : 0mm
