It was a relatively mild start to the day with the air temperature at 06:30 hours already at 7.4c. The overnight low was 5.2c at midnight. We have also had some overnight rain in or area early this morning.
This change in weather from the cold air temperatures over the last few days is all due to a change of position in the jet stream. The “stream” will be running across and down the UK today bringing milder air from the W and, along with it, a general cloud covering.
Our top temperature today will be around 10c and overnight the minimum temperature will be a mild 7c. The risk of rain after 08:00 hours today is 25%.
Today’s breeze will generally be deriving from the W-WSW and the average wind speed will be around 7mph.
The jet stream will begin moving southwards late over the weekend and this will herald another spell of cool overnight temperatures next week.
