It is a mild but fresh start to the day and this pattern will continue throughout as the jet-stream brings mild air from the south after originally deriving in the north. The jet-stream will then run up the UK from South to North.

This movement will bring a lot of damp air (please note humidity levels of 81% at the time of my observations), cloud (average cloud cover 80%) and some showers.

The first major rain cloud system will reach our area just after 10:00 hours. From there on in the risk of a rain shower is about 35%. It is likely, however, that all areas will receive some level of precipitation today.

Our top temperature will be about 15c but with the wind chill this will feel more like 11c.

Today’s breeze will be deriving from the SSW and the speed will be around 12mph.

The pollutant level and pollen counts are both ranked as low.
