Today is going to be a generally cloudy day with the occasional brighter spells this afternoon.

There is rain this morning to both the west and east of our patch but neither system is likely to reach our “patch”.

The air temperature continues to be cool for the time of year with the thermometer topping out at around 14c mid to late afternoon.

It is during the afternoon that the weather picture gets interesting.

This morning the wind will be deriving from the NE at an average speed of around 7mph.

Early this afternoon the wind direction will move clockwise to derive from the SE. This switch will bring in warmer air which, when it reaches the cold front, will begin to fall as rain.

The risk of rain in our area today is around 60-70%.

The air pollutant level is low as is the pollen count.
