Euros 2020

The tournament has started a year after planned,

All the stadia allowing a few spectators but travel in reality is banned.

A player collapsed and nearly died whilst playing in a game,

His football career is now over life for him will never be the same.

England started off with a game at Wem-ber-ley,

The were far the better side but only scored one not three.

Three would have been more reflective of some of England’s play,

Round one of the tournament was simply not Croatia’s day.

So we move to round two in the mini league stage,

England play Scotland and all the ensuing rage.

Let’s hope for some common sense to see the match plays fairly,

We don’t want pitch invasions or anything contrary.

Will England bring the Cup back home?

The odds suggest the winner will be based across the foam.

For four weeks we will build up hope and the nation may even wear a smile,

After all since the last trophy win it has been quite a while!
